Level Pegging!

Happy Saturday! I hope your weekend is going well so far. We're having one of those days when the kids are playing together quietly in one of their rooms upstairs and leaving me to happily make cards. I know. WHAT!? I've checked twice to make sure they weren't getting into trouble or dangling each other over the stair well. All seems well...

For this card I used a stencil to create the tiny dots on the white card base and loads of other Simon Says Stamp exclusives to pull the rest together. I die cut the heart from the centre of the speech bubble, then coated it with Versamark and heat embossed a super sparkly powder all over.

I'm linking up to Cure For the Monday Blues #44- Level Pegging. I love the graphic feel to this inspiration photo, not to mention the black and white with small pops of bold colour.

Kiss a Frog

Woohoo for Thursdays! That means it's only one more work day until the weekend!! Wait...I'm a stay at home mom.  Doesn't apply to me.  Shoot. ;) I haven't had a whole lot of crafty time lately but when I do, I like to squeeze lots of challenge fun into my creations!

Today I'm playing along with the Fusion Card challenge by using just the sketch, and with Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge- Anything Goes.

I die cut, stamped, and coloured the cute froggies from Lawn Fawn's Critters Ever After and popped them up using foam tape on adorable patterned paper from the Let's Polka petite pack. The die cut heart was covered in Diamond Stickles. For the banner, I cut flag ends into a strip of paper and coloured it with a Copic marker to get the exact shade I wanted.

Thanks for stopping in today and have a GREAT day!

CAS-ual Fridays feature- Spring delight

Even though I am currently looking out the window at mounds and mounds of snow (not as much though as my east coast friends), I cannot help but think of Spring. Such a lovely season with all the pretty colours coming back to life and my cardmaking lately has been reflecting that. Lots of bright colours and floral designs. I just can't help it.

Today's card uses some great CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and Fri-Dies to put you in a springtime mood.  I watercolored a fun, bright panel using watercolor paper, then die cut the Casual Trees Fri-Dies from it several times. After diecutting the Bubble Labels die, I heat embossed the sentiment from Truth Is in white. All the colourful trees are adhered to the back of the label and then popped up on a white woodgrain card base.  I have a few spring birthdays coming up so I think I'll make some more of these!

Thanks for stopping in today, and have a GREAT day!

Watercolour fun

I created this watercolor panel a few weeks ago and have been anxious to use it.  The Little Tangles challenge #53- Watercolor seemed like a perfect way to put it to use.

I'm also linking up to the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge- Donut Delight. The colours and falling hearts are my inspiration from the picture.

When I asked what I should do with the initial watercolored panel I had so many creative suggestions. I'm not sure if I went with any of them but it was fun reading them!  One suggested it looked like a unicorn threw up on it...interesting lol.

After using my Peerless watercolors to create the panel, I embossed the Falling Hearts in white and again in gold sparkle embossing powder. I pulled out Just For You (one of my first and favourite Neat & Tangled sets) and embossed the sentiment in gold, and the balloons in gold on vellum. I fussy cut them and tied a bit of gold thread around and adhered them using Kool Tak clear foam tape.

Falling Hearts, Kool Tak and white/gold embossing powders all came from the fabulous Butterfly Reflections, Ink online store.

Have a great day!

Anything Goes- Lovely Day

Happy Family Day to all of you visiting here from Ontario! We don't have any wild, exciting plans for the day, but we are all together and that's what matters.

I'm playing along with the current Paper Smooches challenge- Anything Goes. Now that I look back at previous PS challenges I've played along with, it seems I always use Blossoming Buds. I really do own more sets than this one lol! I just *really* love it!

I heat embossed the floral images in white on kraft cardstock and coloured them in with my Copic markers. After stamping the sentiment, I used a dauber with white pigment ink to lightly ink the edges of the card.
End result- a pretty one layer card perfect for mailing to a friend!

Thanks for stopping in and have a GREAT day!

PTI anniversary festivities!

I'm playing along with the Papertrey Ink anniversary festivities today and have a pretty birthday card to share that uses a lovely colour scheme and fun sketch.

I could really get addicted to stamping all the layers of that gorgeous The Sweet Life stamp set. SO pretty! It's faint in the picture, but for the side detail I stamped a curvy text block repeatedly down the side in Aqua Mist ink. Stickles glitter on the flowers make it super sparkly in real life.

You have until February 15 to link your creation up so feel free to play along here

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: The Sweet Life, Background Basics: Text Style, Calendar Basics
Dies: The Sweet Life die collection; Wonderful Words die collection

Last day of homework!

This is my last day of catch-up for Clean and Simple: Techniques Made Simple 4

The first two cards focus on Day 4 lessons, by adding texture to your cards. BAD choice using that intricate "Happy Birthday" die cut on the first card. It's lovely but what a headache.

This next card uses stencils and embossing paste to add texture. I can see many possibilities with this technique! I created my own stencil for the leaves by die cutting a leaf die cut out of scrap paper.

This last card is from Day 6- Fab With Five. I used cardstock, inks, double-sided tape, glitter and a stamp set. The masking tape allowed me to create a fun inked pattern and once I pulled it off it gave me a perfect surface to sprinkle glitter on. I love the cheerful result.

Thanks for stopping in today. Have a great day!

Clean and Simple Techniques 4 homework

Once again I'm catching up on posting cards I've made for Online Card Classes Clean & Simple- Techniques Made Simple 4.

Many of the supplies I've used (or similar ones) can be found at Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I am really having fun with this class! I love that I don't have to come up with the ideas lol...but can just replicate them using what I have on hand. THAT I can do.
