Runway Inspired- Hougton Bridal

White on white seems so elegant for a wedding card. I have a lot of elements on this card, but I'm hoping they all seem to work together!

First we have a subtle stamped background in a light grey ink, followed by die cut vellum. That gorgeous Memory Box die cut was lightly sponged with the same grey ink and adhered to the vellum. Finally, the sentiment die cut and heat embossed with sparkly powder.  I love how this turned out!

I'm playing along with the latest Runway Inspired Challenge #94. I tried to mimic that light, airy feel that the dress in the picture gives off.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Party Animal!

Happy Tuesday to you all! I had a funny exchange with my husband on the phone last night (he's on a business trip). I told him that now the Canadian election is over, I can stop talking politics and focus on the new Star Wars movie...and that it's funny that I seem cool but am really a nerd at heart. His response "Oh honey...you don't seem cool AT ALL." Deadpan. Oh that guy. I can't help it. I'm a lovable nerd I guess. :)

For my card today I watercoloured the ever-adorable animal trio from Party Animal by Lawn Fawn using Zig Clean Color markers. I fussy cut the hats, die cut the panel with a Cross-Stitched Rectangle die, adhered a few sequins and popped it all up on a patterned paper card base.

My colour inspiration came from the Can You Case It challenge this week, which was to use browns, greens and neutrals.  Thanks for stopping in today, and embrace your inner nerd!!

Amazing Things

I have been busy lately creating up a storm in my crafty corner. I cannot get enough of those Zig Clean Color markers...seriously though. This card was so easy to make using them.

Using the gorgeous Origami Map by Neat & Tangled, I embossed the image in gold and coloured in the areas with various colours of the markers. Using a small brush I loosely went over them with water, not being too careful where the paint went. Once it was dry, I stamped the sentiment and adhered it to a purple card base. Easy peasy!

I'm entering this in my friend Virginia's All Things Coloured challenge

It also fits the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is watercoloring.

Thanks for stopping in today! Have a great day!

Waffle Flower Challenge!

I am so excited to be posting today for the first time as part of the Waffle Flower Challenge Design Team! This month's challenge is to use embossing in your creation. Heat embossing, dry embossing, embossing paste, using dies to create an impression in cardstock...what kind of embossing can you come up with?! We can't wait to see what you create.

Head on over to the Waffle Flower blog to see what Daria and Shona have come up with!

The doily from Doily Circle stamp set was heat embossed in gold and then coloured in using Copic markers. A raindrop-shaped stamp is included in the set (don't forget to use those fun little stamps!) and I also embossed it branching out from the main design.
For my sentiment I first used my MISTI to stamp the Celebrate sentiment from Congrats in the colour I wanted, then stamped again over top in Versamark ink and heat embossed it using clear powder. That's a great way to stretch your ink supply and not have to worry about matching colours of embossing powder! The MISTI makes this reeeeally easy to do.

You can see the sketch and inspiration picture that I based my design on over at the main challenge post. That's also where you can link up YOUR creations featuring embossing. You don't have to use Waffle Flower products, but you will be eligible to win a prize if you do!

Thanks for joining me today! Have a fantastic day.

WWW- Winnie & Walter & Watercolour

Has everyone recovered from their World Cardmaking Day hangovers? :)

I was SO lucky this year to be able to happily make cards all day long...and that's exactly what I did! The night before I even hosted a fun cardmaking night at my house and several ladies came to create. It is so fun when you can share your hobby and creative passions with others!

Several challenges were out there in blog-land celebrating WCMD, one being Winnie & Walter's watercoloring challenge. I couldn't wait to play along.

For both cards I used my Zig Clean Color markers and water to blend a pretty background. Once dry, I stamped my sentiment from The Big, the Bold and Party on top, then added my embellishments. For the bottom card, I heat embossed a star background over top of the entire panel for some serious sparkle.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
