Inspired by All the Little Things #13

Blue butterflies...such a pretty inspiration picture this week for the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge. This week's picture reminds me of my very first tattoo- a butterfly in shades of blue and green. Love! And yes...I said FIRST tattoo. I have several. :)

After sponging Tumbled Glass Distress ink across the white cardstock panel, I stamped the butterflies from the Elegant Butterflies set by Clearly Besotted in Blue Violet ink. The stamped part of the sentiment was stamped with Island Blue ink and the "prayers" die cut was cut from the same colour of cardstock. Gold ink splatters and a few sequins bring in the gold from the inspiration picture.

I am SO thrilled to be joining the fun in the designer spotlight for April.  This is my last week in the spotlight, and I would like to thank Simon Says Stamp and the Wednesday challenge team for having me! I've had loads of fun and love designing with all these fun products.

Oh my goodness, I just LOVE this PenPattern Blooms stamp by Stampendous. I stamped it in black ink on white cardstock, then used Copic markers to colour in bits and pieces of it. The larger of the two banners from Sketchy Banners was cut with black cardstock and the "thanks" die in silver glitter paper. A few silver sequins finish it off and the whole panel was glued to a black card base.

Thanks so much for stopping in today! Happy cardmaking. :)

Inspired by All the Little Things #12

Happy Saturday! I'm back with another fantastic inspiration photo from the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge. It's finally starting to warm up and act like spring around here in Ontario and so springtime creations have been on my mind.

The Spring Woods stamp set and the coordinating die cuts from Papertrey Ink jumped out at me when I saw the inspiration photo. I did the die-cutting first, then stamped all the coordinating bits and pieces to create the branches.

I kept it soft and sweet, adding a touch of Stickles to the flower centres and heat embossing the sentiment in Antique Gold.  Of course, I had to stamp and use the robin bird on my card...having a daughter named Robin this made it mandatory. :)

Now it's time to head over to the main challenge blog if you haven't already been there and check out all the fabulous inspiration from the design team and to see who the guest designer is this week. Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping in!

CTS #169

My creativity has been given a boost by the ladies that were at the cardmaking class I taught at the local library last night. We had fun making two cards, and it's always great to see new enthusiasm for this fun hobby. I came away inspired and was up early creating!

CAS(E) this Sketch #169 was my inspiration for this card. I started with sponging ink through a stencil on the card base then I KNEW I had a half-finished piece from loooooong ago in my scrap bucket just WAITING to be used on a card finally.  After much digging, I found it! I think it was back in the autumn that I stamped, coloured, and cut out Gardenia Blooms Journaling Card stamp from Neat & Tangled. I'm glad I could finally use it. I stamped a sentiment from Papertrey Ink in the centre and adhered it to the card with foam adhesive.

Thanks for stopping in today! Have a good one!

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

wed-newchallenge-header
Welcome back to another Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge! This week the challenge is MAKE IT GIRLIE and we are showcasing products from Hero Arts. There are so many fabulous Hero Arts products that are perfect for this challenge; it was hard to know where to begin! You don't have to use their products to play along, but it would be great if you did. As always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to their store.

I am SO thrilled to be joining the fun in the designer spotlight for April.  The "make it girlie" theme to me is pretty wide open; for our household, girlie is quite often Rey from Star Wars or Wonder Woman. Since I decided to take it in a Mother's Day direction though, I went with floral and pretty...something my mom would like!

I stamped the Floral Bold Prints 6x6 cling stamp in Unicorn White pigment ink on the green card base, then again slightly offset in Green Hills die ink. For the floral cluster I stamped Let Love Grow and Spring Hello clear stamp sets in Bubble Gum, Tide Pool and Passion Flower die inks. The sentiment is from the Happy Stamp & Cut clear set. I popped the panel up with foam adhesive and added a few pretty sequins.

Thank you so much for stopping in today! I'll see you soon. :) Happy card making.

Create Together with Julia Stainton

I am happily collaborating again today with the amazing Julia Stainton from Belle Papier. Both us of sold a bunch of used stamping stuff at the same craft garage sale this past weekend. Unfortunately we weren't able to get together when we dropped off our boxes, but we live close enough that we can make that happen sometime soon I hope!

Our inspiration today comes from this fun piece by Wendy Kendall Designs. I loved the bottom panel and the Waffle Flower Crafts Tribal Pattern die cut came to mind immediately.

Rather than piecing everything together (which I DO NOT have the patience for), I simply layered cardstock behind each open row, leaving the white pieces intact on some of them. The die cut sentiment comes from Concord & 9th. I can't wait to replicate this look with other colours...the possibilities are endless!

Thank you SO MUCH Julia for creating with me today. I hope you will all pop over to her blog Belle Papier and see what amazing creation she came up with using this fun inspiration. :)

Inspired by All the Little Things #11

The inspiration photo for Inspired by All the Little Things this week brings sweet, sparkly birthdays to mind. I think I would like a cupcake like that for my next birthday. :)

Shaker cards are always fun for birthdays! I used Party Wishes from Stampin' Up and stamped the cake and candles first, adding silver heat embossing over top for the sentiment. Then came the sequins...loads of them. :) Seriously, shake it baby!

Head on over the main challenge blog to see the rest of the fantastic creations by the design team and to see who our guest designer is this week. Thanks for stopping in!

Create Together with Veronica Zalis

I'm happily getting inky with Veronica Zalis from So Many Stamps, So Little Time. Veronica has a big crafty resume, her creations ooze elegance, AND I'm happy to call her a friend.  I just adore this sweet card of hers, and this one made me smile the minute I saw it. My most recent favourite though? This lovely floral creation that I think really shows off Veronica's signature style.

We are thinking SPRING this week for our creations. As I say that the sun is already shining and it's going to be a gorgeous weekend. I can't wait to get out and enjoy that sunshine!

I used the Color Pop Florals kit from Papertrey Ink for my card. This kit is fun and as versatile as you want it to be. It will be great for those times when I'm low on inspiration and just need some quick and easy cardmaking. I die cut the pre-printed flower and leaf pieces and adhered them, along with the sentiment. Some Stickles and sequins give it my required sparkle. :) The Fine Linen coloured panel was trimmed down and adhered to a white card base.

Thank you so much Veronica for creating with me today! Crafty friends are the best. Pop on over to her blog and see the gorgeous springtime creation she came up with.
If you'd like to "create together" virtually just let me know. I love getting to know crafty people and working with them. :) Don't be shy.

I used the Stuck on You stamp set and coordinating die cuts to create a little potted plant scene, as well as one of dies from the Simple Stitched Hillside dies. Patterned papers are from the Let's Polka, Mon Amie and Let's Polka in the Meadow 6x6 collections. Also used were the fantastic Lawn Fawn inks- Mermaid, Freshly Cut Grass, Walnut and Wild Rose. A few sequins finish it off. :)

Thanks for stopping in today and have a great day!

Create Together with Bonnie Sharp

I really should have made my card for this week's Create Together post WITH the actual other card maker seeing as she is my next door neighbour. :) That's right, Bonnie Sharp from The Lucky Clucker is my guest again and it was her turn to choose the inspiration.

Isn't that a gorgeous springtime collage? So many possibilities!

I used Avery Elle's Canopy stamp set and tried to replicate the bottom middle picture of the inspiration collage. I heat embossed the canopy in white, then watercoloured it all using Zig markers. A crisp black sentiment finishes it off and for once I did NOT use any sequins. :)

Head on over to Bonnie's blog to see how she was inspired! Creating with friends is so much better than crafting alone. :)

Waffle Flower Crafts April challenge

Welcome back for another Waffle Flower Crafts challenge. This month we have a cheerful inspiration picture that will surely bring springtime to mind. There's no technique to follow- just let the picture and/or colours guide you. You can play along for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice!

I started with the colours from the swatch and added in a bold pink shown from the inspiration picture and channelled all the springtime vibes I could to create a pretty floral focal piece for my card.  The Lacy Flower Mats and Lacy Flowers dies made this SO easy to do. The possibilities are endless with these combinations of dies. Repeatedly stamping the thin lines from the Magical set and adding few ink splatters in a tone on tone look make a plain yellow card base a little more interesting. Finally, a bold pink Celebrate sentiment draws your eye right where it needs to go and sequins give it a bit of bling. :)

Thanks for stopping in, and don't forget to head over to the Waffle Flower blog and see what my talented team mates created for this challenge. You have until April 25th to link up at the main challenge post

Inspired by All the Little Things #10

This week's inspiration for Inspired by All the Little Things #10 is a big ol' bowl of sweetness. Yum!

I stamped and die cut the jar from Waffle Flower's Good Stuff stamp set and using the masking technique, stamped the inside repeatedly with a cherry from Simon Says Stamp's Adult Beverages. The vellum shaker panel was fun to make using MFT's Peekaboo Circle Window. Since there is no foam to give it dimension the sequins more or less stay in place. It's kind of a neat effect!  It seemed really plain still, so I added a Lacy Flower die, some washi tape, and a button with twine. I'm happy with the end result. :)

You can join in on the fun too! Use the inspiration picture as your guide and link your creation up on the main post. You have until Thursday April 14th at 11:55pm (PST) to play along. I can't wait to see what you come up with. Now head on over and see what my teammates made!

Neon Nicknacks

Is it nicknack? Or knick-knack? Hmmm...Either way, I'd love a neon flamingo as a fun decoration in my yard. I DO have a pink glittered flamingo though, so I guess that will suffice.

I used the super colourful and fun Curtain Call challenge for my inspiration today. Neon inks from Hero Arts were put to good use for this creation, paired up with loads of awesome product from My Favorite Things. I really thought that fun sentiment from Bling It On would work perfectly with my flamingo
I smiled the whole time making this card. I turned out just the way I hoped it would. Don't you love when that happens? So fun.

Have a great day! Enjoy your Friday and have a great weekend!

wed-designerspotlight-header

Welcome to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge! I am very excited to be in the designer spotlight for the month of April. Since they are celebrating their seventh birthday, this week the theme is BIRTHDAY and we are using Simon Says Stamp exclusive products. Instead of the usual $50 voucher to the store, this week we are giving away SEVEN $50 vouchers! Wow!

First I added some interest to a white cardstock panel using the Diagonal Stripe stencil and Spring Rain ink. Then I cut the panel using the Stitched Rectangles die. I used the Best Hugs stamp set for my sentiment and the Tattered Poppy die for my floral focal point. The pieces of the die were sponged with Sunkist, Lemon Chiffon, Jellybean, Doll Pink and Spring Rain inks.

For your chance to win one of SEVEN $50 SSS vouchers this week, just create a card and link up on the SSS Challenge Blog. Thank you so much for popping in today and have a great day!

Inspired by All the Little Things #9

I am very excited to be joining the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge team for the next term! Join us every Saturday for fabulous inspiration. You have until Thursday at 11:55 p.m. PST each week to link up at the main post and we hope you'll play along!

I adored the messy watercolour look and the bold, vibrant florals and got busy creating!

After stamping and heat embossing the flowers and stems on watercolour paper, I used a combination of Zig Clean Color markers and dye inks for watercolouring them. A few flicks on ink here and there add to the messy look. A big, bold sentiment in sparkly black paper complimented the panel perfectly.

Supplies Used:
Sketched Blooms (My Favorite Things)
Color Pop Florals (Papertrey Ink)
Summer Garden (Simon Says Stamp)
Hand Lettered Thanks (Wplus9)

Head on over to the challenge blog to see how my wonderful team mates were inspired by this picture and then go pull out your supplies and get crafty! Have a great day.
